Consistency and productivity

I realize more than ever that my productivity is strongly correlated to the consistency of my routines (habits). A couple of weeks ago my family and I took a fantastic trip to Universal, threw my routine out the window in the process. Since then, I have struggled with getting back to my regular morning routine. Missing my morning routine has also messed with my afternoon routines and my productivity practices in general.

I’m learning that for me to perform at my peak level, I have to be dogmatically consistent with my routine, morning, noon and night. Even the slightest miss has a ripple effect on the remainder of my week.

So, I guess I say all of this to say, though the holidays are going to mess up all of our routines, here’s to finding consistency in the chaos and meaning in the madness. I’m still committed to getting up at 4 am every morning and treating each day as a golden opportunity to make maximum impact. Now I have to make sure I have the discipline to be consistent.
