We are less than three hours away from the start of 48in48 in New York City, and I’m pumped! The Atlanta event two weeks ago went amazing, as expected. But, this event is different. This event is our first 48in48 in a city that is not our hometown.  So, here are a few things I’m thinking about as we kick off:

• It’s all about the team and our team rocks! I can’t tell you how many details I don’t know anything about; there are tons. What I can tell you is that our team has it under control and I don’t have to worry about it. The nonprofits are prepped, the teams are set, the food is coming, etc. Everything is running like a top (whatever that means).
• The enthusiasm is amazing. We started the 48in48 NYC slack channel earlier this week and already have over 100 active people on it (before the event). There is so much enthusiasm there it ‘s unbelievable. I can’t wait to meet these volunteers.
• Our sites platform is working beautifully. My company, Sideways8, has been building this platform for months and it got its first test in Atlanta two weeks ago and worked flawlessly. I was nervous about it being tested in Atlanta; today I’m not worried.
• Communication is key. We learned a lot about what and how to communicate in Atlanta, so the preliminary communication in New York has been vastly improved.
• I’m pumped!
