Commit to the first 20 minutes

Hard things are hard. Profound right? What is interesting about hard things is that they often don’t stay hard, they just start that way. In my life one of the hardest things I do it getting up early. So, when my alarm goes off, and I feel like I’m dying I say to myself “give it 20 minutes, then reassess.” Then I get into my morning routine, 20 minutes goes by, and here I am at 5:37 am typing this blog post. I think the same goes for working out or running. The first mile is always tough, but it gets easier as you settle into a rhythm.

Accepting that the first 20 minutes will be hard is the key to doing it, and then push past those 20 minutes and get it done!
